I have been part of a law enforcement agency for several years and have taken use of force training within my agency, and also through private martial arts schools. Recently I had completed the first stage of the C.I.S. (Critical Incident Survival) training series taught by instructors of the UZIEL Close Protection agency.Through the course of my duties a co-worker and I found ourselves in a close quarter incident in which I was in a fight for my life. During this incident, the fight had escalated to the point where most of my uses of force options were unavailable to me, and I was without body armor. My co-worker attempted to subdue the attacker using traditional baton strikes; however, they had no effect. This ineffectiveness was consistent with the traditional martial arts strikes I had attempted to use as well. The attacker had already attempted to disarm me, and all I could do was hold him in a clinched position. The situation was quickly going south as we were unable to call for help.As the attacker was attempting to disarm my co-worker and defeated some of the retentions on his holster, I was able to use a throw technique to create some distance which enabled me to use a lock to finally subdue the attacker allowing us to restrain him. I had learned and practiced both of these techniques in the UZIEL combatives class I attended.Had it not been for the combat oriented mindset and combat techniques I had been taught by UZIEL Close Protection, the outcome of this incident may have been very different, with grave consequences. My thanks go out to the UZIEL staff.Officer D. |
I have been a Police officer for 20 years with a background in various Martial Arts. I have been a member of a Tactical Unit for ½ my career and this is the first time I have seen or practiced a system that is what I have been looking for. The training that Police officers receive is inadequate and not practical. It is all geared towards, getting to a place of safety and looking good for the Courts. When does my life come into play here? Why should this attacker be allowed to continue with this type of behavior? Uziel takes the attack back and guarantees your survival. The techniques taught are realistic, easy to practice, very effective and quick. Sgt./Current SWAT Operator (name withheld) |
Hey Guys, Wanted to pass on a recent incident where your training came in handy. I have been a LE Officer for 6 years as well as part of the military. I also have belts in other martial arts disciplines. For the last 6 years I have trained in the combatives offered by the Uziel Protection Agency, ranging from hand to hand combat, Ground-Fighting and knife training.
Recently throughout the course of my duties I found myself in a position where my Partner and I were in a bad situation with 3 violent people. It suddenly escalated when one of the attackers attempted to draw a knife from his pocket. My Partner was already struggling to control; the other two. I responded with techniques I had acquired through my training with Uziel CP. I quickly incapacitated the attacker and secured the knife. I was then able to assist my partner with the other two.
This is just one of countless encounters where my training with the Uziel Close Protection Agency has saved myself and others from serious harm or even worse, death. Officer (Name Withheld)) |
...I have been lucky enough to attend two of his close combat courses and can tell you from personal experience that the stuff that is taught on the courses in very dynamic and very real life. This is no regular training system... Sgt. (Name Witheld) |
I have been a police officer for 9 years, a member of a Tactical Unit for 5 years and involved in various martial arts for over 10 years. I have always found that most of the combatives training I have received to be totally inadequate in preparing me for the real dangers of policing. Unlike other martial arts that I have trained in, which utilize intricate holds and require fine motor skills, the Uziel Fighting System uses gross motor movements and devastating holds that can be applied under stress. The Uziel System is designed to be instantly effective and eliminate the threat and move on, recognizing that as officers, we will often encounter more than one threat at a time. Uziel Instructors put you in the worst possible positions and show you how to fight your way effectively to a position of control. They make their students realize that no matter how well trained you are, you will likely be injured in a life and death encounter, but they also give you the confidence to know that you can fight through and survive. But what I liked most about the Uziel System and its instructors was that unlike other martial arts , they presume that the threat we face will be a highly skilled and motivated attacker, and therefore train to overcome that threat. This is the course that all Police Training Bureaus should model themselves off. Current SWAT Operator (name withheld)

I have been in Law enforcement for 13 years and in the currently work as an Operator in the Tactical Unit. I keep hearing horror stories of actual engagements with bad guys... The element of society that we as law enforcement deal with have changed their tactics, but we havent. They train at MMA schools or at fight clubs and we as an institution hope for compliance with tactical communications and crossed fingers. I have trained with the Uziel instructors and find them to be professional as well as current in their approach to critical incident survival. They also have the fresh attitude of treating the bad guys as being well trained, instead of hoping they are not. I highly recommend these classes/ seminars to all people working in the law enforcement field as it will open your eyes to the dangers, and give you options that your current training may not.
